Digital Screener to Replace the Daily Health Screener

Dear UCSF Community,

As we transition to a new phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to refine and improve our practices to protect the health of our UCSF community. Among these improvements is an upgrade and renaming of the Daily Health Screener to the new UCSF Digital Screener.

Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2022, the new Digital Screener fully automates the process for users to:

  • Complete the onsite screener
  • Report positive COVID-19 tests and get guidance
  • Obtain clearance to return to work for most COVID-19 exposures, symptoms, and positive test results

The new Digital Screener is available in four languages: English, Spanish, Russian and Chinese. For any information that is being stored in the Occupational Health Service medical record, you will be asked to provide two-factor authentication – your email and your date of birth – to confirm your identity.

Once employees, learners, and volunteers answer the questions in the Digital Screener, they will receive automated return-to-work clearance based on their specific situation and get guidance if they test positive.

This change will reduce delays for employees and learners waiting to hear back from the COVID Response Team. It also streamlines and automates the documentation process enabling UCSF to track current case counts and transmission rates faster and easier.

You can access the new Digital Screener here.

Thank you for your continued dedication and commitment to our public health mission as well as your cooperation as we revise our COVID-19 policies and guidelines.

Sincerely,

Josh Adler, MD
Chief Clinical Officer
UCSF Health
